Procurement Services is pleased to announce a new, five year agreement with AppleOne Employment Services, part of the ACT•1 Group, as its contracted temporary staffing service provider, replacing Unique Advantage. AppleOne will begin filling the University’s temporary staffing needs on July 1, 2016.
The ACT•1 Group, which was founded in 1964, is the largest woman and minority owned staffing agency in North America. The University will benefit from AppleOne’s premier technology and reporting, community outreach and recruiting practices, customer service focus, standardized pre-assignment screening process and on-site location, among other things.
Over the next few weeks as we transition from UniqueAdvantage to AppleOne, AppleOne will be sending communications to hiring managers for existing UniqueAdvantage associates as well as the process for requesting temporary associates in the future. Each temporary associate currently on assignment at the University through UniqueAdvantage will be contacted by AppleOne. UniqueAdvantage associates whose assignments at the University are expected to extend beyond July 1, 2016 will be invited to stay on assignment at the University by successfully completing AppleOne’s application process and becoming AppleOne employees. If those temporary associates choose not to apply for employment with AppleOne, their current University assignment will end based on the purchase order end date or exhaustion of allotted dollar amount for the particular assignment. AppleOne will be on site at the University to conduct Application & On-boarding collection/transitioning meetings during the first and second weeks of July.
AppleOne is not currently in the Penn Marketplace, therefore all purchase orders should be free formed until further notice. In setting up purchase orders, please include the hourly rate and the time period for the assignment on the description line with a separate PO for each individual.
