EMSCO Scientific Enterprises and Fisher Scientific have together been selected as the University of Pennsylvania’s primary strategic contract supplier for laboratory supplies and equipment. This EMSCO/Fisher Scientific collaboration combines Fisher Scientific, one of the largest laboratory products distributors in the country, with EMSCO Scientific, a minority-owned, West Philadelphia-based provider of scientific supplies and equipment. EMSCO/Fisher Scientific has dedicated sales and customer support, as well as product specialists assigned to the University who are committed to meeting the University's unique business requirements. EMSCO/Fisher Scientific sponsors the Laboratory Products Focus Group, Supplier Product Shows, and offers Penn specific product promotions through the Supplier Showcase. EMSCO/Fisher Scientific also supports various University initiatives that advance sustainability, diversity and economic inclusion, STEM education and student advocacy, and others.
About the Contract
The EMSCO/Fisher Scientific strategic supplier contract became effective July 1, 2018, and is the result of a collaborative strategic sourcing initiative inclusive of Penn’s research community. Following the execution of the contract, the parties worked together to enable an operating model to best serve the University of Pennsylvania. The fully enabled solution takes effect in October 2018. An online “punch-out” catalog has been enabled in the Penn Marketplace under EMSCO/Fisher Scientific.
