The University of Pennsylvania's Penn Marketplace (Penn's private procure-to-pay portal) is a campus-wide system, which has resulted in increased customer satisfaction, streamlined ordering efficiency, significant increase in utilization of authorized buying tools, increased business opportunity for participating preferred contract suppliers, and significant product and service cost savings for the University.
Almost 200 Penn Marketplace participating preferred contract suppliers receive approximately 68% of all University purchase order transactions, from a community of over 20,000 approved suppliers in the University's BEN Buys purchasing system database. Participating suppliers also realize significant annual growth in their business at Penn, due in large part to the University's commitment to eProcurement, support from the Procurement Services organization, and ease of "doing business" with faculty and staff. For these suppliers, participation in the Penn Marketplace is a "competitive advantage."
Procurement Services continues to identify opportunities to add new suppliers and content to Penn Marketplace. If you are a current BEN Buys approved supplier, or a supplier interested in establishing a new business relationship with Penn, participation in Penn Marketplace provides suppliers - large and small - with an equal opportunity to gain Penn's business.
Suppliers interested in an opportunity to participate in Penn Marketplace should contact Procure@upenn.edu.
